The Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Obuda University hosted a high-ranking Chinese delegation representing prominent textile manufacturers from China.
The focus of the discussion was on securing specialized textiles essential for products being developed by the Faculty’s researchers. The successful continuation of the faculty’s projects requires high-tech materials that are not currently available from domestic sources.
The Chinese delegation, led by Jun Han, Secretary-General of the China Textile City Association, consisted of experts from various sectors of the textile industry. Members included Grace Yang, the owner of Darin Textile, a supplier to global fast-fashion companies such as Zara and Maxmara, as well as several renowned representatives from the lace, embroidery, and fleece manufacturing sectors. The delegation was primarily seeking new market opportunities but also showed keen interest in Hungarian higher education connections, particularly regarding potential student applications.
Following the welcome address at 10 AM, delivered by Dr. habil Edit Csanák, Vice-Dean for Research and Director of the Institute, the delegation held a discussion over coffee with the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. habil László Koltai. Afterward, the guests visited a textile wholesaler in the Óbuda Goldberger District to gain practical insight into the local market.
During the meeting, the Faculty presented the details of its research and development projects. They consulted with the delegation members, as potential suppliers, about specialized raw materials suitable for their research goals. The discussion took place in a highly constructive atmosphere, with the Chinese experts providing valuable insights into the latest textile industry innovations through their expertise and market knowledge.
The visit has laid the groundwork for a future collaboration that could not only secure the vital supply of raw materials for Hungarian projects but also promote the establishment of long-term industrial and educational relationships between the two countries.
