Meeting between Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, China, and Óbuda University

On Monday, September 25, 2023, a meeting was held between representatives of Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, China, and Óbuda University and Sándor Rejtő Faculty in Budapest, Hungary. The meeting was held to discuss potential areas of collaboration between the two universities.
The Óbuda University held talks with its new Chinese partner on the launch of international student and teacher mobility programs, joint training, and research and development ideas. 
The meeting was attended by the representatives of Zhengzhou University: Mr. Prof. Dr. Zhang Xiao Vice President, Ms. Prof. Dr. Tan Hongling Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department, Mr. Prof Dr. Yang Kun Dean of Physics and Electronic Engineering College, Mr. Prof Dr. Wu Xuehong Vice Dean of Energy and Power Engineering College, Ms. Prof. Dr. Zhang Xiaojing Vice Dean of Material and Chemical Engineering College, Mr. Prof. Dr. Zhang Qiuwen Vice Dean of Computer and Communication Engineering College, Mr. Győző Zijian Co-ordinator/interpreter, Mr. Jin Xin Co-ordinator.
The meeting began with a welcome from rector Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács who expressed his pleasure in hosting the delegation from China. He then introduced the participants from ÓU.
Prof. Dr. Zhang Xiao Vice President gave an overview of Zhengzhou University: a comprehensive university focusing not only on light industry. He discussed the university’s strengths in informatics, food engineering, and chemical engineering.
After the meeting, the partners signed an education and research cooperation agreement
Following the successful international meeting, Prof. Dr. Levente Kovács Rector summarised: „Today, we held discussions with a delegation from the Zhengzhou University of Light Industry in China on the launch of international mobility programs, joint training and research and developments. At Óbuda University, in line with my strategy as Rector, we pay particular attention to the quality of international student programs and are committed to increasing the proportion of international graduate students in our programs.”
In connection with the meeting Dr. habil. László Koltai, Dean of the Sándor Rejtő Faculty, explained: „Our universities are well-positioned to work together to develop new technologies and to train the next generation of engineers”.
The meeting between Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, and Óbuda University was a positive step towards strengthening the relationship between the two universities. The collaboration between the two universities has the potential to benefit students, researchers, and industry in both China and Hungary.
