The Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Obuda University has once again successfully organized its annual scientific environmental conference. The jubilee event, named the X. International Annual Symposium-2026, took place between May 7–8, 2026. Adapting to modern expectations, the organizers conducted the two-day event online via the Microsoft Teams platform.

At the focus of the event were some of the most pressing questions of our time, as the central topic of the symposium was „Environmental Health & Biosecurity: Sciences, Engineering & Applications”. Connected to this was a Workshop Special Session examining the correlation between environmental health and climate change, emphasizing the core idea: „No Security Without Climate Security”.

The conference attracted broad international interest, which is faithfully reflected by the fact that participants arrived from 29 countries around the world—including China, Russia, India, the USA, as well as numerous African, Asian, and European nations (such as Pakistan, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Portugal, Ukraine, Hungary, Italy, Romania, France, Netherlands, Spain, Germany, Serbia, KSA, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Iraq, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Cameroon, Nigeria, and Libya). The scientific discourse and professional work were coordinated by a total team of 12 organizers, led by Prof. Dr. Hosam Bayoumi Hamuda, President of ICEEE and Chairman of the X. Symposium-2026.

A total of 120 scientific presentations were delivered at the event. The backbone of the professional program consisted of 8 Plenary Lectures, 9 Keynote Lectures, and 103 Technical Sessions. The 65 lectures and 38 posters presented were distributed across the five main thematic sessions.

In Session (A), experts explored the topics of Healthcare: Risk & Management, Public Health & Nutrition. Session (B) focused on the fields of Soil Biology, Agricultural & Food Security, Ecosystems & Landscape Conservation & Protection. The presentations in Session (C) dealt with the most current issues of Air, Water & Sediments Pollution & Waste Management. Technological and theoretical advancements were represented by Session (D), which scrutinized Education, Innovation & Knowledge Transfer, Artificial intelligence, Bioinformatics, & Circular Economy Strategy. Finally, Session (E) presented Energy Research & Applications, along with modern possibilities for Biomass Conversion for Bioenergy.

Following the presentations, a dedicated section of the event featured a workshop with an informal tone, providing a platform for free discussion. Here, experts debated the future of environmental health under the variation of climatic change, reflecting on the aforementioned approach of „No Security Without Climate Security”.

The valuable research materials presented at the symposium will not be lost: the full articles of the accepted abstracts will be published in the form of an official ISBN Proceedings Book by the Rejtő Faculty by the end of August.
