A delegation from the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after Iskhak Razzakov (KSTU) visited the Óbuda University Rejtő Sándor Faculty on September 12, 2023.
The delegation was led by the university’s rector, Professor Chynybaev Mirlan Koichubekovich. The delegation was joined by several other prominent leaders: Professor Akylbek Chymyrov Vice Rector for International Relations, Professor Imiila Rysbaeva Director of the Institute of Technology, Professor Kabaeva Gulnara Director of the Institute of Information Technologies, Professor Saltanat Kozhobaeva Director of the Institute of Architecture and Design.
The delegation met with the faculty’s dean, Professor László Koltai, and other and other faculty leaders, such as Professor Rita Bodáné Kendrovics, Associate Dean for Education and Professor Edit Csanák, Associate Dean for Research.
The delegation also visited the faculty’s laboratories and classrooms.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss the possibility of establishing a partnership between the two universities. The two sides discussed areas of cooperation, such as student and teacher exchange, double degree, joint research, and faculty development.
Professor Chynybaev Mirlan Koichubekovich said that he was impressed with the Óbuda University Rejtő Sándor Faculty. He said that the faculty has a strong reputation in the field of engineering, and that he is confident that the two universities can work together to achieve great things.
Professor Koltai said that he is also excited about the possibility of a partnership with the Kyrgyz State Technical University. He said that the two universities share many common goals, and that he is confident that they can work together to benefit both students and faculty.
The delegation’s visit was a positive step towards establishing a partnership between the two universities. Both sides are committed to working together to create a mutually beneficial relationship.
In addition to the meetings and discussions, the delegation also had the opportunity to visit some of the city’s landmarks, such as the Várkert Bazár near to the Buda Castle. They also enjoyed a traditional Hungarian dinner at a local restaurant.
The delegation’s visit was a success, and both sides are looking forward to further cooperation in the future.

Successful registration week at the Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering
The Registration Week of the Rejtő Faculty of the University of Óbuda took place between 4 and 8 September 2023. The Faculty offered a number of opportunities for applicants to get acquainted with the Faculty, its training programmes and to ask questions to the faculty and staff.
During the registration week, the Rejtő Faculty organised a number of events, including an introductory event with presentations by the Faculty’s managers and lecturers to the first-year students. During the event, applicants were introduced to the history of the Faculty, the university organisation and services, the study system and requirements, the faculties and training programmes, and the cultural and sporting opportunities of university life.
The staff of the Faculty and of the Student Council gave informative talks to the applicants about the specificities of the training and the university life, the patronage teaching system, but also about the research carried out at the Faculty.
The first year students were positive about the opportunities offered by the Faculty and said that the registration week had helped them to be better prepared for their integration into higher education.
The Faculty’s management is pleased to announce that the registration week was a success and that the RKK remains committed to providing applicants with the best possible opportunities to learn about the Faculty and its training programmes.
A Celebration of Academic Excellence – Graduation Ceremony at the Rejtő Faculty for Environmental Students at the Obuda University
The graduation ceremony for the environmental students at the Rejtő Faculty of Obuda University took place recently in the prestigious Dean’s Office. Teachers’ Day on the Rejto Sandor Faculty
On the 7th of June, the Rejto Faculty of Obuda University celebrated Teachers’ Day, a day to recognize and appreciate the hard work, dedication, and impact of its teaching staff.
The celebration started with a formal program, during which the dean of the faculty, Dr. László Koltai, gave a speech, thanking the teachers for their commitment and contribution to the university. He emphasized the importance of the teaching staff in shaping the future of the students and the university as a whole.
Following Dr. Koltai’s speech, several teachers were recognized and awarded for their outstanding performance in different areas. The awards ranged from the best lecturer of the faculty to the most active teachers and researcher of the year. The teachers who received the awards were filled with gratitude and expressed their appreciation for the recognition they received.
The formal program was followed by lunch, where teachers were able to let loose, enjoy themselves.

VII-th International Symposium-on Environmental Health and Biosecurity Strategy
The Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering of Óbuda University and the International Council of Environmental Engineering Education (ICEEE) recently hosted its VIIth International online Symposium on Environmental Health and Biosecurity Strategy. The symposium brought together global experts, academics, industry leaders, and students to discuss the latest developments in environmental engineering, technology, and sustainability. The event featured keynote speeches, panel discussions, and research presentations, all focused on various aspects of environmental engineering and sustainability. Total given scientific abstracts covering the following technical sessions were 72 classified as following: 7 Plenary Lectures, 2 Keynote Lectures and in the Technical Sessions 34 Lectures. The participants were came from 26 counties covering as examples of Africa, Asia, and Europe. The discussions explored topics such as waste management, renewable energy, green technology, and sustainable infrastructure. Such as the following:
- Agriculture and Soil Improvement, Food Security and Green Growth,
- Water Security: Treatment and Management,
- Air Quality, Climatic Changes, Energy Production, and Industrial Pollution,
- Environmental Risk and Human Health,
- Resources and Wastes Management and Recycling,
- Social-Ecological Systems Research for Monitoring Sustainable Development.
The keynote speakers included renowned experts from various fields who spoke about the role of innovation in addressing global environmental challenges, and who discussed the importance of sustainable development and circular economy. The panel discussions brought together industry leaders and academic experts to explore topics such as sustainable mobility, sustainable cities, and sustainable agriculture. The experts shared their experiences, insights, and best practices, and discussed the challenges and opportunities in their respective fields. The research presentations showcased the latest breakthroughs and innovations in environmental engineering research, allowing researchers and students to share their findings and get feedback from peers and experts. In addition to the technical discussions, the symposium also hosted cultural and social events, including virtual tours of Budapest and Hungary. Alumni meeting at the Rejtő Faculty of Óbuda University

Step into a world of imagination and innovation as you explore their stunning designs and see firsthand the talent and creativity of these international students, who participate in Stipendium Hungaricum programme.
Visit of „Stipendium Hungarycum” students at INNOVATEXT Zrt.
On April 13, international product design students of the OE Rejtő Faculty took part in a study visit at one of the major Hungarian research institutes. The visiting group was accompanied by Prokai Piroska, the master teacher of the Faculty.
INNOVATEXT Textile Engineering and Testing Institute – founded in 1949 – is the central research, development and testing basis of the Hungarian textile and apparel industry.
The visitors was welcomed by the leading expert Mrs. Andrásné Kovács, who explained that their success is based on the high quality of service, commitment to the environment and social responsibility with which they want to achieve their costumer’s satisfaction. The institutes give quality advice to the clients (manufacturers, distributors, suppliers, etc.), for example: in the field of environment protection and recycling, and conduct on-site quality control tests.
After the short introduction the students were able to get to know the modern laboratories equipped with test equipment suitable for conducting chemical and physical tests, as well as the test methods.

The international network of the Rejtő Faculty continues to expand with the Croatian Sveučilište Sjever Universit
The delegation of the Croatian University North was greeted by the dean of Sándor Rejtő Faculty Dr. habil László Koltai, and Dr. Edit Csanák, Vice-Dean of the Faculty. The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. Imre Felde, Vice Rector of Óbuda University.
As a confirmation of the previous informal contacts, Prof. Dr. Marin Milkovic and his several prominent colleagues were hosted by the Dean of the RKK on 16 March in his office. The successful meeting outlined opportunities for joint educational cooperation and common research and innovation goals.
In his briefing, Prof. Dr. Marin Milkovic explained that their university (Sveučilište Sjever) is the second largest public university in Croatia, with two university centres in Koprivnica and Varaždin. In terms of student numbers, it is the fifth largest university of the country. The university was founded in 2015 by the merger of the University of Applied Sciences in Varazdin and the University of Media in Koprivnica. Currently, teaching and research work is carried out in 20 faculties.
At the meeting, Dr. habil László Koltai presented the educational profile and international relations of the Rejtő Faculty and outlined the main directions of internationalisation and the objectives of cooperation.
Following a successful discussion, the partners agreed to start – in the near future – the preparations for a joint MSc studyprogram in the field of environmental protection and packaging and to prepare a new joint PhD programme.
