The recent academic year of the Rejtő Sándor Faculty of Light Industry and Environmental Engineering at Obuda University concluded in a solemn and elevated atmosphere. The graduating students brought their university years to a close by receiving their well-deserved engineering diplomas. In addition to respecting traditions, the event was characterized by modern technological solutions: the ceremony could be followed with English subtitles on the projector screen for domestic and foreign participants alike, while relatives and interested viewers could join the celebration via a live stream on the university’s official YouTube channel. The solemn ceremony was announced and conducted by Eszter Barta, Head of the Dean’s Office. The prestige of the event was enhanced by the academic leadership seated in the presidency: representing the senior management of the university, Prof. Dr. Zoltán Rajnai, Vice-Rector for General Affairs; representing the Faculty, Dr. habil. László Koltai, Dean; Dr. Krisztina Demény, Vice-Dean for Education; Dr. habil. Tamás Csiszér, Vice-Dean for Research; Bodáné Dr. habil. Rita Kendrovics, Institute Director; Dr. habil. Edit Csanák DLA, Institute Director; and Luca Istvándi, President of the Faculty Student Council.

During the final examination period, the Faculty’s Hungarian and international students demonstrated outstanding preparedness and deep professional knowledge. A total of 80 graduates proved their knowledge, and the high standard of the programs is faithfully reflected by the fact that no failing or weak grades were given during this year’s exams, with the lowest mark being a satisfactory grade. The distribution of student performance shows outstanding results: 19 students completed their studies with excellent honors, 30 with highest honors (very good), and 24 with good honors.

In his festive speech, Dean Dr. habil. László Koltai highlighted the students’ perseverance, creativity, and diligence, emphasizing that the engineering diploma they earned represents a serious social and professional commitment. He reminded the audience that the Faculty’s mission has remained unchanged for over fifty years: to give well-prepared professionals to the world who are capable of making our environment and everyday objects safer, more sustainable, and more beautiful. As a parting gift, he recommended continuous professional curiosity, adaptability, and effective cooperation to the attention of the graduates, and expressed special thanks to the family members supporting them from the background.

As a highlighted part of the ceremony, the Dean of the Faculty expressed his gratitude to two outgoing leading colleagues whose dedicated work defined the successes of the Faculty for many years. The Dean spoke with appreciation about the work of Institute Director Bodáné Dr. habil. Rita Kendrovics, who, as the former Vice-Dean for Education of the Faculty, earned everlasting merits in modernizing the Faculty’s educational standards and renewing the complex training structure in a student-centered manner during her nine years of tireless leadership. The Dean also thanked Institute Director Dr. habil. Edit Csanák DLA, former Vice-Dean for Scientific Affairs, who successfully positioned the Faculty in domestic and international scientific-artistic life during her six-year term with her unique vision and exemplary commitment.

Following the presentation of the diplomas, Prof. Dr. Zoltán Rajnai, Vice-Rector for General Affairs representing the senior management of the university, expressed his appreciation in his welcoming speech for the outstanding performance of the newly graduated alumni. Congratulating the fresh engineers, he emphasized that obtaining a diploma is not the end of the process, but the beginning of a new chapter in which lifelong learning plays a crucial role as the guarantee of future success.
